JAMES WALKINSHAW FOR VA-11

Today, the DMV New Liberals are proud to endorse Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw for Virginia's 11th Congressional District in the Democratic Primary. 

Supervisor Walkinshaw has emerged as the clear choice to lead Northern Virginia in Congress. As the late Congressman Connolly's Chief of Staff, Walkinshaw knows the ins and outs of Capitol Hill. Since 2019 he has served as Supervisor for Fairfax County's Braddock District where he has championed expanding the region's supply of housing and has fought to protect federal workers. 

He understands that Democrats need to widen our tent in order to win in 2026 and beyond to implement our policy goals. "We need to have a coherent agenda and message that is future-oriented and recognizes that the fundamental problem in our politics is the need to deliver higher living standards."

As a future-oriented organization, our members have voted to endorse someone who is poised to represent the next generation of leaders in the Democratic Party.
