MIKE AUSTIN FOR WARD 8 COUNCILMEMBER

Today, the DMV New Liberals are proud to endorse Mike Austin for DC Ward 8 Councilmember in the July Special Election. 

Mike is an attorney, former ANC Commissioner, and lifelong Washingtonian with years of experience as a Legislative Director in city government. He aspires to solve the real problems facing residents of Ward 8 and to be their steadfast voice on the City Council. 

 His priorities include instigating responsible growth in Ward 8 to increase the supply of housing and make it easier to do business, investing in workforce development and education that ensure everyone in the ward can thrive, and implementing data-driven solutions that reduce gun violence and increase public safety. 

Mike's vision for Ward 8 aligns with the DMV New Liberals' mission to foster pragmatic, evidence-based solutions that increase freedom, fairness, and opportunity.
